Map of Sussex originally published in 1611 by John Speed, digitally re-mastered from an antique original and printed onto photographic quality media. Supplied flat in a polypropylene sleeve and back board, the 20" x 16" (approx. 508 mm x 406 mm) print can be removed from the protective sleeve for framing or retained in the sleeve.
The map of Sussex by John Speed 1610 is decorated with strap work cartouches containing coats of arms of Earls of Sussex. The county is divided into rapes instead of hundreds. There is a town plan of Chichester and a commentary about the Battle of Hastings, which is illustrated by vignettes. The sea contains sea monsters and ships including a large group of ships together presumably representing the Norman conquest.
