Diese Monographie vergleicht Proto-Indogermanische Sprachen mit verschiedenen Sprachen und Sprachfamilien Eurasiens, Zentralasiens, des iranischen Plateaus, des indischen Subkontinents, des Nahen Ostens sowie Nordafrikas, und untersucht sie hinsichtlich ihres gemeinsamen genetischen Ursprungs. Die Autoren kommen zu dem Ergebnis, daß alles auf einen gemeinsamen Ursprung hindeutet und fassen diese Sprachgruppierungen unter dem Begriff der 'Nostratischen Familie' zusammen. Die Komparative Methodik sowie die Methodik der Inneren Rekonstruktion finden in diesem Werk besondere Berücksichtigung.
