Autumn Simmons, an American and a ‘naïve’ artist, lives with her lover, Colin Acieta, in a chateau in Amalfi, Italy —a seaside town with small bays, picturesque cliffs, and hundreds of uphill stone steps overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
Acieta, a photographer, travels to the parched and barren Sahara Desert to rescue his siblings from a migrant trafficker. Yet, his noble mission is thwarted when he is held hostage by local domestic terrorists.
To negotiate Acieta’s release, Autumn travels to the Sahara Desert. And there, she meets Brahim Ghali, a Muslim Berber, dressed in ankle-length thobes and kufiyah headdresses, who believes in polygamy and has a harem of women.
But Autumn is a ‘limerence’ to Ghali, and he becomes tragically obsessed with her.

Author / Illustrator, Edwina Louise Dorch, won the American Writing Award for best inspirational novel in 2023 and was a finalist in the crime genre in 2024. She is a psychologist who teaches art therapy on a barrier island off the Coast of Florida. And, her paintings are shown in galleries along the Florida A1A highway.
