This work deals with (UV-visible and fluorescence) Spectrophotometric methods for the determination of ranitidine hydrochloride (RAN-HCl): UV-visible Spectrophotometric methods include Reaction of (RAN-HCl) with metal ions Cu(II) and Ni(II) in acetonitrile solvent to formed colored complexes, these complexes reacted with 2,2_ bi pyridine (bipy) to formed another stable colored complexes. The wavelength of maximum absorption for the colored complexes formed was found to be (412, 427,439 and 604) nm for [RAN-Cu(II)], [RAN-Ni(II)], RAN-Cu(II)-bipy] and [RAN-Ni(II)-bipy] complexes respectively. The Spectrofluorimetric method depending on quenching of response florescent intensity for (bipy) in aqueous solution.
