Eddie Straiton is the world’s outstanding communicator of veterinary procedures and animal care. He earned the title `TV Vet’ from the long series of television programmes in which he brilliantly demonstrated animal husbandry to a wide audience.
Eddie Straiton is the world’s outstanding communicator of veterinary procedures and animal care. He earned the title `TV Vet’ from the long series of television programmes in which he brilliantly demonstrated animal husbandry to a wide audience.
Essentially a practical veterinary surgeon, Eddie Straiton went on to pioneer many new ideas including the caesarean section in the cow and the new, more human, approach to bovine obstetrics. In addition to his extensive agricultural practice, Eddie had a dairy farm for twenty years. He was awarded an OBE for his contribution to agriculture and veterinary science. Eddie sadly died in 2004.
