Ali Eftekhari is currently professor of chemistry at the University of Ulster and Queen?s University Belfast, Ireland. He has worked in different capacities in various universities across four continents, and founded two internationally recognized research schools providing education and research opportunities for hundreds of graduate students every year. His latest project in Africa was featured by the British newspaper The Guardian as an exceptional success story in African higher education. He has also advised different governmental bodies on national science policies and research funding strategies. He is the principal author of more than 100 papers published in leading scholarly journals, and edited research books, published by Wiley and the Royal Society of Chemistry. He has supervised more than 110 postdoctoral researchers and graduate students and is founder and President of the American Nano Society.
