The map folds out to about 24 x 18 inches and shows modern roads, battle lines, contours (essential for understanding the importance of the ground over which the battles were fought), memorials, bunkers, cemeteries and museums. Each side has comprehensive indexes,with a simple grid reference system that enables all the information to be easily found.

This map is one of a series especially drawn by Major and Mrs Holt well known authors of more than 20 books on military subjects and who are credited with creating the modern battlefield tour some 30 years ago.
