In this world tour of cocktail culture from famed retro artist Shag and his drinking buddy Adam Rocke, Shag's yesteryear hipsters sip classic and contemporary drinks in Tokyo, Moscow, Luxor, Peking, Paris and many other exotic locations, including outer space. Includes 80 easy-to-make cocktail recipes.
When consummate hipster artist Shag and mixologist Adam Rocke take a trip around the world, the result is an atomic reaction in the world of pop culture. Shag's '50's-era characters sip their classic and contemporary cocktails in Tokyo, Moscow, Luxor, Peking, Rio, Buenos Aires, Maui, London, Munich, Memphis (Tennessee), Columbus (Ohio), New York, Aspen, Miami, Paris, Venice, Rome, San Francisco, and Outer Space. Shag's fans will blast off when they see the 30 four-colour spreads of his art, accompanied by 80 of Adam Rocke's most delicious cocktail creations. Even if one doesn't imbibe, the book's a hoot, an artistically irreverent romp through hipsterland.

Shag, illustrator of Surrey Books' Tiki Drinks and Shag Party, (aka Josh Agle) is one of the hottest pop artist around today; an illustrator and painter with an admiration for the clean, tight graphic style of '50s and '60s commercial art and illustration. Shag's art appears on checks, mouse pads, clothing, even Zippo lighters. He lives with his wife and daughter in their Southern California hideout, a tiki bar/supervillain's-lair. Adam Rocke contributed the text of Tiki Drinks and Shag Party, and is the author of Atomic Bodyslams to Whiskey Zippers - Cocktails for the 21st Century, all published by Surrey Books. A native of upstate New York, he grew up at his family's resort, The Nevele, where he learned to mix a mean Mai Tai by the age of ten.
