Alan J. Poling is a project manager with Solomon Associates, where he works with clients to identify performance improvement opportunities through participation in "The International Study of Plant Reliability and Maintenance Effectiveness. "With undergraduate and graduate degrees in education, he started his career as a professional educator and taught in public schools and at the university level. After earning engineering undergraduate degrees, his technical career began as a reliability and maintenance engineer. He has held plant and corporate leadership roles in maintenance and reliability with several companies. He has worked nationally and internationally as a reliability and maintenance consultant. AI is a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP). He served as Technical Director for the Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) from 2008 to 2010. AI has presented at numerous maintenance and reliability conferences, both nationally and internationally and has published several white papers and articles on reliability and maintenance and related topics.
