Her connection to the region began in the 1980s while working on the design of the Natural History Museum in Muscat, Oman, where she developed a deep appreciation for its landscapes, heritage, and culture. Over the ensuing decades, inspired by her friendships with photographers Cecilia Green and Shirley Kay, Ashworth began collecting and safeguarding rare images that capture a world now largely vanished. Through Arabian Album, she continues to champion the preservation and cataloguing of these visual records, ensuring their availability for future generations.
