Power in Transformation examines how design, creativity, and activism can become tools for reimagining systems of power and for building equitable, sustainable futures. Through its exploration of themes such as co-creation, pedagogy, economies, and movements, the book unpacks the complexities of transformation as a process rooted in collaboration, reflection, and action. It challenges readers to question inherited systems of exclusion, explore alternative ways of being and knowing, and engage with the narratives that shape resistance and solidarity. Combining critical insights with practical approaches, this book invites deep engagement with the urgent task of fostering meaningful change in theory and practice.

Mustapha El Moussaoui is an architect, urbanist, and assistant professor at the Free University of Bolzano. He works on envisioning alternative urban possibilities and uncovering the untapped potentials of cities through artificial intelligence. Moreover, he researches the theoretical aspect of architecture and urbanism of the future.

Kris Krois co-creates design practices, tools, and strategies for emancipatory socio-ecological transformations as an activist and a professor for eco-social design. Since 2013 he has co-curated the annual conference, By Design and by Disaster.

Teresa Palmieri, PhD, is a design researcher developing and utilising participatory design methodologies. She uses design to create bridges between governments, institutions, and communities in just and sustainable eco-social transformation processes in the public, everyday, and organisational realms.
