Societies and groups attribute greater value to some behaviours and some judgments. These 'norms' are what is most important for understanding how behaviours and judgments are socially regulated. The approach presented examines in particular the social foundations of our judgments.
Nicole Dubois is Professor of Psychology at the University of Nancy, France. She is the author of pivotal books and papers in the areas of social norms of judgment and of evaluative knowledge, including The Psychology of Control (1987) and The Norm of Internality and Liberalism (1994).
