In Detail
There's a lot of myth surrounding why financial services companies and institutions (banks, credit card companies) are not compatible with DevOps. This book aims to debunk that myth by showing how the finance industry can benefit from DevOps practices and perform a greater degree of automation by implementing DevOps properly. All this through a practical approach. This book starts by showing examples of how implementing DevOps in the financial industry is as much about changing culture as about improving collaboration between development and operations. We will then proceed to lay a strong base for automation and tooling through robust combination of tools, methods, and services. Through examples we will demonstrate how financial services and businesses can deliver faster and better software without compromising on reliability and security which is paramount to their customers and clients. We will run through a complete practical example through a real-world finance-based example that shows:

* Continuous Integration (using tools such as Jenkins)
*Automation and deployment tools (Ansible, Chef)
*Infrastructure as code (using Puppet)
*and finally container based solutions using Docker

(Note: Automation and configuration management is getting increasingly wide-spread and top banks in the US as well as NYSE are already using Puppet, Chef)
