Inhalt

Norman is a small African-American boy who wants to be an architect, just like his mom. She often takes him on adventures through her building projects and he loves learning about new buildings and how they are made. One day, while Norman is waiting inside the construction trailer at her job site, he starts to get antsy and doesn't want to wait for his mom. His curiosity gets the better of him and he sneaks away to go explore on his own. He waunders through the skyscraper that is under construction. Soon his imagination begins to take over and construction workers turn into lizards, gorrillas, and other animals right before his eyes. All this commotion reminds him of something his mom once told him; that "architecture is like frozen music". Norman begins to see this and soon all the creatures he meets join him in a marching band escapade through the building. All of a sudden he hears a voice calling his name through the din. The voice jolts him back to reality and he wakes up; finding that his whole adventure was a dream and he is still inside the construction trailer at his mom's job. He immediatly tells her about all the things he saw and how everyone worked together to create this amazing builidng. The mom, intrigued by his imagination, invites HIM to take HER on an adventure. He excitingly agrees and takes her hand as they rush out the door.
