Chapter One:

Check the Stats

One in four Americans lives a sedentary lifestyle. Meaning they sit on their ass, never exercise and consume toxic shit I wouldn’t even call food.

Every year corporations sink a shitload of cash into campaigns to entice you to buy their products. In fact, McDonald’s spends two billion dollars annually on advertisement campaigns that largely target children. They know their shit causes disease and yet they try to come across like philanthropists who give a fuck, opening Ronald McDonald Houses for kids with cancer, when in fact they put the cancer-causing ingredients in their food and even worse, marketed it to children. Even when I was a kid they had my dumb-ass believing that hamburgers came from the hamburger patch and that Mayor McCheese was one cool motherfucker.

Now, imagine if you will, the look that would appear on the face of Mickey Dee’s CEO if the news actually reported the truth of what their weapons of mass destruction are actually doing. “And in other news over one million more children developed cancer from eating toxic ingredients found in McDonald’s chicken McNuggets. Three million more adults needed triple bypass surgery this month. Tens and thousands of limbs were amputated due to Type 2 Diabetes. Another million acres of vital Amazon rainforest was cleared today to graze beef cows in order to make McDonald’s hamburgers and grow poisonous GMO crops to feed cows which has been sprayed with deadly glyphosate and will destroy your gut biome and immune system. Yes folks, there is nothing happy about all those happy meals and the billions served.”

The truth is we will never see that broadcast on the mainstream news in our lifetime. So we need to go old school on their ass. We need to use the power of the spoken word which should never be underestimated. Especially when those words hold so much truth. In fact, the plant-based movement has now gone mainstream. There are documentaries like, “Forks over Knives”and “What the Health” and others, as well as books, podcasts, websites, tweets, YouTube videos, Facebook and Instagram pages dedicated to the dissemination of real information related to this subject. Always remember, the devil is in the details. Just because something has that trendy, “100% Plant-Based” label on the package, does not mean it’s healthy. Just look at the Impossible brand of GMO lab grown fake meat crap Bill Gates is invested in, and which I refer to as “Impossible to Digest” fucking garbage.

Receiving knowledge is only the first step in change. The real work begins when we apply that knowledge to our lives. And we must. We have to reverse the path we’re on and we need to do it yesterday. Otherwise, the deadly diseases will continue to wreak havoc and unnecessarily claim millions of lives across America. In fact, the U.S. is only 4% of the world’s population, yet we produce 70% of the world’s pharma profits, and rank 60th in global life expectancy.

Right now more than a hundred million adults in the U.S. live with diabetes or prediabetes according to a report by the CDC. The report states that 30.3 million Americans – 9.4 percent of the U.S. population – have diabetes. Another 84.1 million have prediabetes, a condition that if not treated often leads to Type 2 diabetes within five years. And it’s not just Americans getting this deadly disease; Type 2 diabetes is a global epidemic, spreading around the world as countries that have never had this issue began to eat like us. Sadly, now they too have become fat & sick like Americans.

A study published ten years ago in the New England Journal of Medicine proved that diet and lifestyle changes worked better than drugs in treating Type 2 diabetes and the health conditions related to it. The fact remains that many people have completely reversed their Type 2 diabetes by adopting a whole-food, plant-based diet and getting off the couch. And with more than half of Americans projected to have diabetes or be pre-diabetic as of 2025, at a cost to the U.S. health care system of a whopping 3.35 trillion dollars, maybe it’s time to rethink how the fuck we’re eating and living.

People wrongly assume that Type 2 diabetes is caused by overeating carbohydrates and sugar. Wrong! It’s caused by a diet that builds up animal fat in the blood – you know, that good old S.A.D. (Standard American Diet), eating meat every fucking damn day three, four, even five times a day, for some. Then the muscle cells build tiny particles of fat, which causes insulin resistance. In other words, even the natural sugars found in food can’t get into the cells where they belong, so they build up, and that is diabetes. That’s exactly why when you go off all animal proteins and eat a whole-food, plant-based diet, your Type 2 diabetes is reversed! Yes there is a cure.

Many doctors agree, and some reference a huge study conducted several years back consisting of 500,000 people, where carbohydrate consumption was found to be inversely related to diabetes. As a matter of fact, the more complex carbohydrates people ate, the less often diabetes appeared. And meat consumption – you guessed it – is strongly correlated with diabetes. Remember though, the devil is in the details, because many times processed carbohydrates are loaded with animal-based dough conditioners and other bad shit like highly processed hydrogenated oils, dairy and eggs. That’s why I push whole carbohydrates in their organic, unprocessed state.

So let’s take a look at the #1 Killer in the USA: Heart Disease.

  • About 610,000 people die of heart disease in the United States every year – that accounts for 1 in every 4 deaths. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. More than half of the deaths caused by heart disease in 2009 were in men.
  • Coronary heart disease is the most common type of heart disease, killing over 370,000 people annually.
  • Every year, about 735,000 Americans have a heart attack. Of these, 525,000 are having a first heart attack, and 210,000 happen in people who’ve already had at least one heart attack. The only diet medically proven to reverse and eliminate heart disease? You got it – a whole-food, plant-based diet. And what have studies proven? Eating more red meat causes increased mortality from heart disease, cancer, and other diseases.

Then you get these Mamalukes saying a plant-based diet is too radical, as if having your chest cracked open like a fucking walnut and a saphenous vein ripped out of your leg and sewn into your heart, isn’t? Or having stents shoved up your dick and having to take multiple medications. These measures are not the solution.

As for me, I’ll take the advice of MDs like Dean Ornish, Dr. Greger, Caldwell Essylstyn, Joel Kahn, and others who recommend that we eat right, get daily exercise and not smoke in order to keep heart disease and other killers at bay. As a matter of fact, a recent EPIC study (European Prospective Investigations into Cancer and Nutrition) published in the Archives of Internal Medicine followed 23,000 people, who exercised 3.5 hours a week, didn’t smoke, ate a healthy diet, and maintained a proper weight. 93% of those studied prevented diabetes, 81 percent of heart attacks, 50 percent of strokes, and 36 percent of ALL cancers.

Another eye-opening fact is that the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified processed meat as carcinogenic, something that causes cancer. Processed meat includes hot dogs, ham, bacon, sausages, and a number of them nasty-ass deli meats like olive loaf (insert the barf track here). It refers to meats that have been treated in some way to preserve or flavor them. Processes include salting, curing, fermenting, and smoking. IARC also classifies red meat – beef, pork, lamb, and goat – as probable carcinogens.

Twenty-two experts from ten countries reviewed more than eight hundred studies to reach these conclusions. They found that eating fifty grams of processed meat a day increased the risk of colorectal cancer by 18%. That’s the equivalent of about four strips of bacon or one hot dog. There was evidence that red-meat consumers have an increased risk of colorectal, pancreatic, and prostate cancer. And it’s not just the meat, it’s also processed foods, pesticides, herbicides and the rest of the garbage we willingly ingest every single day.

As our consumption of meat and processed foods have spiked, so has our rate of prostate cancer. The New England Journal of Medicine recently cited two major studies, in which only one out of forty-nine men treated for prostate cancer lived longer because of conventional medical treatments like radiation, surgery, and drugs. Not to mention that a number of men became impotent and also had to wear adult diapers after treatment. Not too fucking manly, is it? The fact is, with a change in diet and lifestyle, you can slow, stop, or even reverse the progression of early-stage prostate cancer.

We are truly at a crossroad right now, and fortunately many have begun to see the writing on the wall, done their research, and started down a new path. All it takes is a change in habits, choosing to replace bad ones with choices that will benefit you in the long run. All of that is waiting just on the...
