Life is not a spectator sport, those who remain content in the shadows risk being overlooked, underestimated, and ultimately unfulfilled. It is dangerous and shameful to allow fear, complacency, or self-doubt to relegate us to this lesser role, especially when our potential calls us to lead, to create and to thrive.
Being in the back seat means your steps are watched, not out of admiration, but out of curiosity or doubt. People want to see if you will rise, if you will finally break free of the cycle that holds you down. When you linger in this place too long, you become a warning instead of a model. It's a risk to grow comfortable in the pit of life, where frustration, regret and mediocrity become the norm. These emotions are not just occasional feelings; they become companions when you settle for less than your purpose.
Every individual has moments of feeling stuck or overwhelmed, but remaining in that state is a choice. The longer you stay, the harder it becomes to climb out. Regret festers, and dreams fade into distant memories. The back seat of life offers no steering wheel it removes joy and silences the inner voice that propels you to match on. You are not meant to merely exist; you are meant to live intentionally, to impact and to progress.
Therefore, step forward. Reclaim your place in the front seat of life. Embrace the discomfort of growth, take ownership of your story, and refuse to let life pass you by. You were never created to be a passive passenger, you were born to drive.

IT IS DANGEROUS TO BE AT THE BACK SEAT OF LIFE

It is good to challenge God in prayer and build faith that all will be well. It is wrong anyway to challenge or blame God for what happens to you, or else you will settle down at the back seat of life. Also, don’t challenge or correct God’s representative in the altar. Don’t ridicule or speak evil of men of God when you listen to their message. They are different person entirely when they climb the pulpit. They are the representative of God on earth. I once know of a brother who makes jest of pastors on pulpit. It is either he finds fault with their spoken English or find fault in the story they tell. He was a fault finder. I use to tell him, God is preparing him to be a man of God in future. He will say; “I reject it by fire”.

One day, God sat him down in the dream and said, “My son listen to me and be rich in knowledge. When I call a man, it is for a reason. I am the one who created him. I know him before he was formed and I am not after a perfect man because no one is perfect. Every creature has one error or the other. The men of God you make jest are my handworks. Do you know the moment you drag them on the floor it is me you are dragging. If you score them mark, it is me you scores. Am I not the one who creates you? Any man I call, I have a covenant on his life. Any time I see him it is the covenant I am looking at not his error. So, anytime you debate his error the heaven is not in your support. Desist from such attitude because what you are telling me is that I make a mistake to pick him”.

He said, the dream continued, and God said, “There were many virgins in Israel before I pick Mary to carry Jesus for nine months in her belly before birth because the time is ripe to fulfill the prophecy that a virgin will conceive and born a baby that will save the world. If you were in the world then you would have mock the prophet sent. Look at David, I know he was a murderer and a wife snatcher, yet I choose the Messiah to come from his lineage. I don’t judge by your character”.

"… The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.'"1 Samuel 16:7.

So God do not see the error of people he sees his covenant in them. Once you love God no matter the error you see stay clear. This is the reason most men who are very close to anointed men of God becomes casualty of life, because they become too familiar with the anointed. No matter how they pray or shout their heaven are close. So, don’t be ignorant. It is act of ignorance to discuss God because those you see their limitations are sent by God. This does not mean error or evil is legalized, as time goes on God will handle the situation. Don’t eat from the plate of ignorance or drink water of ignorance. As people grow what they do you think is wrong, as they grow God will mold them to his taste, not your taste. And God is always perfect not men. When men grow they will understand, God did not create anyone for you to judge. Do not be critical of anybody. Beware! The book of Psalm 105:15 say, "…Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm."

Do not judge the dress of men of God, if you do, you may be insulting the Elijah in him, or pull down John the Baptist in him. When John the Baptist appeared on the scene of his calling to prepare the way for the Messiah to come, he appeared in a strange dress and strange mode of food. The book of Matthew 3:4 records it. "And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey." So, his dress was Camel's hair garment, leather belt (girdle), and his food was, Locusts (which were clean insects according to Leviticus law) and wild honey.

The dress is not ordinary but has spiritual significance; simplicity and austerity. John’s clothing and diet reflect a life of simplicity, humility and separation from worldly pleasures. His lifestyle was in stark contrast to the religious elite of his day, emphasizing, detachment from materialism. He was born to carry out devotion to God by preparing for a prophetic mission. Also, his dress is a symbol of repentance because his entire message was about repentance and preparing the way for the Messiah (Jesus). His rugged lifestyle served as a living sermon. His rough clothing signified mourning and repentance, similar to the wearing of sackcloth in ancient times. John the Baptist has special call of God as the forerunner of Jesus Christ the Messiah. He did it in the wilderness, a place of preparation of separation from corruption. It is also a place where prophets often encountered God. If you encounter such person, don’t mock him! It’s ignorance! You will find yourself at the back seat in the spiritual where people gather as little children.

You may be creating mountain for yourself. Avoid it and learn how to speak to your mountain; the reason I will give it time in our message today. When you address your mountain, your problem is half solved. When you live passively, mountains grow aggressively; don’t let your silence become their permission to operate in you. Don’t allow comfort in the back seat to cost you progress in the front. Authority isn’t passive; occupy the front seat of life and declare movement over stagnation. Faith has a voice, use it to move the mountain that dares to block your view. If you don’t confront the mountain, you will be at the back seat and it will continue to block your vision and direction.

Have faith, I say have faith, speak to your mountain to disappear, pull it down, scatter it in prayer and command it to expire. This is what you need to sit at front row, with people ready to make it. Don't be ignorant of Jesus command, speak to your mountain. Most people only know how to speak to God they don’t learn how to speak to issues. When you have issues at hand address it; it is your mountain. God will not speak to your mountain it is your responsibility. Jesus tells us in Mark 11:23, "Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them." It is time you know how to address challenge that comes your way. Know the language to apply in the spirit and how to use it. You speak to God and he leaves you to speak to the mountain.

It is dangerous to occupy the back seat of life, address your mountain with the authority of faith, not the fear of failure. Don’t let your mountain sit in the driver’s seat while you retreat to the back; take control with bold faith. Therefore, address your mountain with the authority of faith. Don’t give room for mountain to block your room. Don’t give room for your mountain to take residence in your destiny. Evict it with authority. Don’t give way for mountain to block your way. Faith doesn't operate from the back seat, get up and face your mountain head-on.

Occupying the back seat of life gives your mountain the front-row view. It’s time to stand up and speak up with authority. When you give your mountain room, you lose your space, address it before it settles. Mountain can drive you to the back seat, living front row of success empty. It is dangerous to watch your life from behind while obstacles take center stage, step forward and confront them. This is the irony of life. Occupying the back seat is like giving your mountain a free pass to lead; reclaim your position with faith.

When you give room to obstacles and mountains they build walls around you, speak with faith and tear them down. The longer you stay in the back seat, the stronger your mountain becomes, address it now not tomorrow. Don’t give way for your fears to become fixtures and fittings, face the mountain and move forward. The back seat may feel safe, but it’s not where destiny is driven; move up and speak up. I say, speak up against your mountain. You were born to lead, not to drag your leg on the floor. Don’t give your mountain a single inch of your purpose. Now let’s pray
