This text presents a problematic that links the question of time in the group with the question of the transformation of affect through the group, based on a mediation group clinic. It emphasises the capacity of the group to put the different forms of time to work. Based on several clinical cases, a typology of time forms is proposed. The mediating object plays an important role in the implementation of intersubjective exchanges at the origin of the transformation of affect into feeling, i.e. the passage from a fixed time specific to the primary process to a deployed time specific to the secondary process. This work is facilitated by the group but also by the mediating object, in this case the image, since it is a question of photographs with the Photolanguage method.

Clinical psychologist; Psychoanalyst member of the IPA; Professor emeritus of the University Lyon2 in psychology and clinical psychopathology; Member of the SFPPG (French Society of Psychoanalytical Group Psychotherapy); Member of EATGA (European Transcultural Association of Group Analysis). Developed Photolangage© in France.
