Michael Twaddle is Lecturer in Commonwealth Studies at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, University of London. He is a General Editor for the Oxford Studies in African Affairs, and his publications include Religion and politics in East Africa since independence (1995), Developing Uganda (1998) and Christian Missionaries and the State in the Third World (2001).
