Map of Lincolnshire originally published in 1611 by John Speed, digitally re-mastered from an antique original and printed onto photographic quality media. Supplied flat in a polypropylene sleeve and back board, the 16" x 12" (approx. 406 mm x 305 mm) print can be removed from the protective sleeve for framing or retained in the sleeve.
Shown at the bottom left hand corner is a plan of Lincoln as it was four centuries ago,with a history of the battles that have taken place in the city just above. The coats of arms of the "Earles of Lyncolne since the tyme of the Normane conquest" are also depicted along the left hand side. On the right above the title of the map is the Royal coat of arms, and just next to that, in the "Germane Sea" a vicious-looking whale has been illustrated. Altogether, this is a wonderful example of a reproduction map, and would make a perfect present for anyone with a connection with Lincolnshire.
